"Alli (Orlistat) apparently works by blocking absorption of some of the fat in what you eat. It seems to work, as we've seen some weight loss with it, but if you overdo it on the fat consumption (or even eat a "normal" amount of certain particularly fatty foods), you will experience the euphemistically named and decidedly unpleasant "treatment effects". I will not describe those here -- you can read about them elsewhere -- but I will say that it takes some care and commitment to avoid them.
